Beast Mode Monday: Own the Week Before It Owns You

Morning, Beasts.

If you're new here, I'm Richard. I coach and train with SalesBEAST alongside my good friend Jayne, and between the two of us, somebody's here for you every Monday. I'm a New York guy at heart who will take a Florida sunrise over a snowstorm any day of the week. When I'm not coaching, you'll usually find me on the water with a fishing rod, or in the garage fixing something that probably didn't need fixing. Jayne will tell you I'm a softie. Don't believe her. Okay, maybe a little.

Here's something the water taught me. You don't catch a thing waiting for the fish to jump in the boat. You pick your spot, you bait the hook, and you cast. Monday works the same way, my friend.

Monday isn't your punishment. It's your starting gun.

Most people wake up on Monday already negotiating with the week. Snooze button. Phone. One long look at the to do list and a quiet prayer that momentum shows up and rescues them. I've been there. I know life is hard. But I'm going to tell you straight: momentum is not coming to save you. You create it.

You get 168 hours this week. Every one of them is either building the life you want or feeding the habits that keep it out of reach. There's no neutral gear on this boat. You're moving forward, or the current is carrying you backward.

The week is waiting on your decision

You don't need to feel ready. You don't need perfect conditions, another planner, another app, or another promise that you'll start when life settles down. Life doesn't settle down. I've fixed enough boat motors in the rain to know you don't get to pick the weather. You work with what's in front of you.

That call you've been avoiding? Still waiting. The proposal you keep polishing? It needs to go out the door. The conversation you know you need to have isn't getting any easier. And your goal doesn't care one bit how good your intentions are.

Your future doesn't reward what you meant to do. It rewards what you did when doing it was inconvenient.

Here's the plan, step by step

  1. Name three outcomes that would make this week a win. Write them down. If it isn't written, it's a wish.

  2. Attack the hardest one first, before the emails and meetings get their hooks in you.

  3. Make one move today that your old self would have pushed to Friday.

  4. Cut one distraction that's been eating your ambition for lunch.

Discipline is the engine

Motivation is a spark. Discipline is the engine. Some mornings you'll feel unstoppable. Other mornings you'll feel tired and doubtful and very, very human. The standard doesn't change because your mood did.

Show up anyway. Make the call anyway. Train anyway. Keep your word to yourself when nobody's watching and nobody's clapping. That's how confidence gets built. Not from pep talks alone, but from evidence. Every promise you keep is one more piece of proof that you can trust yourself under pressure.

And I'll be honest with you, because that's how I do this. I don't always follow my own advice. Jayne once caught me telling a whole room to unplug for the weekend, then sneaking out for one more cast at sunset. The difference is, I own it, and I'm back at it Monday morning. You can be too.

Make Sunday tell stories about you

Picture next Sunday night. You didn't hide from this week. You made the uncomfortable call. You kept your standards. You created opportunities instead of waiting on them. You handled the hard thing while everybody else was still talking about it.

That version of you isn't far away, my friend. It's one decision away, repeated until it becomes who you are. So square your shoulders. Clear the noise. Pick your spot and cast.

This week is yours. Take it. Own it.

Before you go

If this lit a fire, do me a favor. Like it with the heart below, share it with one person who needs to stop negotiating with their potential, and follow SalesBEAST so you never miss a Monday. Some weeks it's me, some weeks it's Jayne, and between you and me, her weeks come with better food.

Speaking of which, if you want quick meals that keep your week on track, visit Jayne's Kitchen. I'm still trying to figure out how she makes five minute food taste that good.

Then drop a comment and tell me the one thing you're attacking first this week. I'll be cheering you on.

That's Beast Mode.

Richard
