Built in the Fire

Morning, Beasts. Let's get to work.

I'm Richard, one of the coaches here at SalesBEAST. I'm the guy with grease under his nails from rebuilding outboard motors, and the guy who'll hand you a plan when the pep talk wears off. Every Monday, either Jayne or I will be right here waiting for you. Today's message isn't gentle, my friend, because the subject isn't gentle.

You were built in the fire

You were not made in the comfort zone. You were built in the fire. And whether you know it or not, that fire wasn't there to destroy you. It was there to forge you into something unbreakable.

Most people avoid the fire. They stay lukewarm, tiptoe through life, and pray not to get burned. But you've walked through flames others would never approach. You've stood in heat that should have broken you into pieces too small to rebuild. You didn't break. You bent. You adapted. You endured. With every blister, every scar, every sleepless night and silent breakdown, you became someone rare: someone who doesn't just survive the fire, but learns to work inside it.

The moment you don't talk about

Think back to your lowest moment. The one that made you question your path, your purpose, maybe even your worth. You didn't just come back from that. You came back sharper. Harder to knock down. That moment was your initiation, and you didn't just pass the test. You rewrote the rules.

The people around you might not understand. That's fine. They didn't see you at war with yourself. They didn't see the early mornings and the long nights, or the times you had to be your own cheerleader, coach, and counselor before 8 a.m. They didn't see the deals you lost that made you wonder if you'd ever close again, or the rejection that hit like a punch to the gut. You saw it. You lived it. And you kept going anyway.

That gave you something most people don't have: grit. Not the kind you post about. Not a slogan on a coffee mug. Real grit. The kind that shows up when there's no applause and no audience, just a quiet voice inside that says, "We don't quit here."

Every scar has a story. Every callus was carved by chaos. Those marks aren't signs of weakness. They're proof of survival, and evidence of growth.

The fire changes people. It burns away the lies, the excuses, the comfort addictions. It strips away what you thought you needed and leaves you with what's real. My friend Jayne said something to me once that stuck: the hard seasons don't take things from you so much as show you what was never holding you up in the first place. She sees clearly, and she's usually right.

Now weaponize what the fire taught you

Surviving is not the finish line. Real beasts don't just recover. They rebuild. Bigger. Bolder. Better. Here's the map:

  1. Name the fire. Write down the hardest thing you came through in the last few years, in one sentence.

  2. Pull the lesson. Under it, write what it taught you. Not what it cost you. What it taught you.

  3. Turn the lesson into a daily discipline. One action you'll do every workday this week because of it.

  4. Turn the pain into purpose. Name who you're doing this for, and put that name where you'll see it every morning.

  5. Use the next setback as fuel. When it comes, and it will, say "I've been through worse" and make the next call within five minutes.

What's next isn't about proving yourself to anyone else. It's about proving something to the version of you who almost gave up. It's about building a life that honors everything you went through, not with excuses, but with execution.

So this week you don't just show up. You show what the fire made you into. You go harder than you think you can. You move faster than they expect. You speak louder than their doubt. You stop negotiating with average. Let the world see what it looks like when someone built in the fire decides to take the throne.

Say it out loud:

I wasn't made in comfort. I was built in the fire, and I'm just getting started.

Before you go

If this hit home, tap the heart. Share it with the person you know who's standing in the fire right now and needs to hear they'll come out stronger. And follow SalesBEAST so you never miss a Monday from me or Jayne.

Tell me in the comments: what's one lesson the fire taught you that you're putting to work this week?

That's Beast Mode.
