Unleash Your Inner Beast with Claw Marks Trail Mix
Updated: 4 days ago
I'm Jayne Smythe, a coach and trainer with SalesBEAST. I live in Florida, where I run early, stretch often, and keep a bag of this trail mix in my car for the moments when a client call runs long and lunch quietly disappears. Healthy body, healthy mind is my rule, and it is much easier to follow when the healthy option is already sitting in your cup holder.
Trail mix is not candy, no matter how many versions on the store shelf try to convince you otherwise. Claw Marks Trail Mix is simple, crunchy, and built for long days in the field: driving between appointments, waiting in a lobby for a decision maker, or grinding through a pipeline day with no real break.
It fits in your pocket and keeps hunger from hijacking your next conversation. Nobody closes well while thinking about a sandwich, and I would know, because I have watched people try. Ten minutes on a Sunday gets you a full week of grab and go fuel.
I don't snack weak. I snack savage.
A quick word about portions, because this is where trail mix gets people. Nuts are good food, and it is also very easy to eat a whole bag of them while you sit in traffic thinking about a proposal. That is why the directions tell you to portion it out right away. Six small bags, six good decisions already made. When you are on your fourth appointment of the day and the drive through is calling your name, you will be glad past you planned ahead.
Ingredients
Makes 6 servings
1 cup raw walnuts
1 cup raw almonds
1/2 cup pumpkin seeds
1/4 cup cacao nibs
1/2 cup dried blueberries (unsweetened)
1/2 cup coconut flakes (unsweetened)
Pinch of sea salt
Directions
Combine all ingredients in a bowl. Mix well.
Portion into small containers or bags for easy carry.
Why This Fuels a Beast
Walnuts and almonds bring healthy fats, which make a small handful satisfying enough to get you to your next meeting.
Pumpkin seeds add protein, which helps you feel full between appointments.
Unsweetened dried blueberries bring fiber and a little natural sweetness, so you are not reaching for a candy bar in the parking lot.
Cacao nibs give you a rich chocolate flavor without the sugar of a candy bar, so the craving gets handled and the plan stays intact.
Portioning it into small bags means you eat one serving, not half the jar, while you wait on a callback.
Richard, who can coach a rep through a tough objection as calmly as he baits a hook, says this is the only snack that has ever survived a full day in his tackle box, which is about as close to a compliment as a fishing trip gets.

Before you go
Mix a batch on Sunday and bag it up for the week. Like this post, share it with the rep who basically lives in their car, and follow SalesBEAST for more. In the comments, tell me what you are eating before your biggest call this week.
That's Beast Mode.
