Hearty skillet meal with motivation

I'm Jayne Smythe. I coach and train with SalesBEAST, and most of my mornings start with a run along the water here in Florida before the humidity wakes up and ruins everyone's mood. My mantra is healthy body, healthy mind, and this skillet is what that looks like on a Sunday afternoon when I am cooking for the whole week. One pan, four containers, and no Wednesday night panic about dinner.

When the day demands focus and staying power, a sad little salad pretending to be dinner is not going to cut it. Picture the days with back to back discovery calls, a proposal due by five, and three follow ups you promised yourself you would send before you log off. Those days need real food.

The Iron Wolf Turkey Skillet brings lean protein, complex carbs, colorful vegetables, and serious flavor in one pan. It keeps you full, keeps your energy steady, and keeps your discipline intact. No drive through. No excuses. Just good fuel for people who still have work to do, and a lunch you can heat up between calls without a second thought.

This skillet does not babysit hunger. It shuts it down.

If you have never meal prepped before, start here. This recipe doubles easily, it reheats well, and the lime and cilantro wake it back up on day three. I tell every new rep I coach the same thing: the week goes the way your Sunday goes. Block an hour, cook once, and you buy back four lunches worth of decisions you no longer have to make while your inbox is filling up.

Ingredients

Serves 4

  • 1 pound lean ground turkey

  • 1 cup cooked brown rice

  • 1 red bell pepper, diced

  • 1 green bell pepper, diced

  • 1 small onion, diced

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 cup black beans, rinsed and drained

  • 1 cup corn

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika

  • 1 teaspoon cumin

  • 1 teaspoon chili powder

  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder

  • Salt and black pepper to taste

  • Fresh cilantro and lime wedges

Directions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

  2. Add onion and bell peppers and cook 4 to 5 minutes.

  3. Add garlic and cook 30 seconds.

  4. Add turkey and cook until browned.

  5. Stir in paprika, cumin, chili powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.

  6. Add black beans, corn, and brown rice.

  7. Cook another 5 minutes until heated through.

  8. Garnish with cilantro and lime.

Why This Fuels a Beast

  • Lean turkey brings protein, which supports muscle and helps you feel full through a long block of calls.

  • Brown rice is a complex carb, so it gives you steadier energy than the candy bowl at the front desk.

  • Black beans add fiber, which digests slowly and helps you stay full until your last follow up goes out.

  • Bell peppers bring vitamin C, plus enough color that your lunch looks like you have your life together.

  • Olive oil adds healthy fats, and one pan means less cleanup, which means one less excuse.

Richard, the best cold call coach I know and an even better fisherman, insists this skillet belongs with ground wild boar from his last hunting trip. I handed him the pan and told him to report back.
